Inside Founders Place: Ski-In, Ski-Out Luxury in Deer Valley
For this tour I started at the Vintage Room — the famous slope-side bar at the St. Regis — clicked in, and skied straight down to one of Deer Valley's last true ski-in/ski-out luxury developments: Founders Place. If you've been waiting for slopeside living that still feels private, this is the one to know.
Why Founders Place is different
It sits inside the gated Deer Crest neighborhood, literally steps from the Mountaineer Express lift — and because there's no public parking here, the ski experience stays remarkably quiet. It skis like a private resort.
The development has three buildings: Helen, Edgar, and Otto. Helen and Edgar are sold out. Otto is the final phase with only a few developer units remaining, plus a handful of resales — which is why I filmed this when I did. Otto is tucked into aspens and pines with direct-to-elevator access for most residences, southern exposure with passive-solar design, and its own Wellness Den: steam room, infrared sauna, outdoor saltwater hot tub, and a cold plunge. Real après-ski recovery, not brochure talk.
Every owner also gets The Polly — the community's amenity hub with a fitness center and yoga studio, ski valet, pool and hot tub, private café, golf simulator, and dedicated kids' and teen lounges. It functions like an alpine social club for mountain families.
The units I toured
Unit 2305 — $11.95M. The showstopper: 4 beds, 5 baths, 3,600+ square feet, fully redesigned in 2025 by RM Koemans with finishes by Stephanie Hunt of The Flairhunter. Custom leatherwork, a four-queen bunk room, media lounge, a ski-prep room that walks straight onto the Deer Hollow run, and a private hot tub on the deck. It feels like a private home that happens to be slopeside.
Unit 3206 — $7.95M. A corner unit with just over 3,000 square feet: 3 beds plus an office and a full media room, 3.5 baths, and a wraparound deck with panoramic views of the Jordanelle and the Uintas. The elevator opens directly into the unit.
Unit 3403 — $12.5M. The crown jewel: 5 beds, 6 baths, 3,554 square feet on the top floor, steps from the lift and the St. Regis. Fully furnished, en-suite baths in every bedroom, move-in ready.
There's also an entry point most people miss: Unit 2304, a 3-bed at $4.575M — genuinely rare pricing for new ski-in/ski-out product in Deer Valley. All units transfer fully furnished, and nightly rentals are permitted on a unit-by-unit basis, so the investment math is worth running.
The bottom line
True ski-in/ski-out in a gated Deer Valley neighborhood, with the East Village expansion pushing values all around it — and the final building nearly sold through. Watch the full tour above, and if you want to walk these in person, I can set up a private showing.
